Organizers of the Ashanti Region Music Awards, is calling on the general public, stakeholders, nominees and potential winners to disregard news making rounds that this year’s awards categories are for the highest bidders.
According to a statement issued by the organizers, wining an award in any of the categories is strictly on merit as per the laid down rules governing the awards.
The organiser is therefore advising all nominees to be very conscious about criminals in the society who may seize the least opportunity to extort money from them.
Portions of the statement read : “It has come to the notice of the organizers of Ashanti Region Music Awards on a purported message in circulation to extort money from nominees in order to help them win the awards on a silver platter.
We want to state categorically that we have no hands in such acts and therefore, dissociate ourselves from this fraudulent activity.
We believe that wining an award in a category is strictly on merit as per the laid down rules.”
The statement also cautioned any individual or groups perpetrating this act to as a matter of urgency, desist from it else face the full rigors of the law, when apprehended.
