German champions, Bayern Munich wins their 10th Bundesliga title in a row.

Bayern Munich has won the Bundesliga for the tenth time in a row after defeating Borussia Dortmund in the Der Klassiker on Saturday.

The result gave Bayern a 12-point advantage with only nine points to play for, ensuring that the German crown would remain in Bavaria for at least another year.

Bayern took the lead in the first half thanks to goals from Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski. Dortmund got a goal back through Emre Can from the penalty spot, but Jamal Musiala made it 3-1 late on.

It is the first time in Bundesliga history that a single team has won ten consecutive games. In reality, prior to this Bayern team’s run, the record was three since the modern period began in 1963 — that mark was set by Bayern sides from the 1970s and 1980s, as well as Borussia Monchengladbach.

The current run began with the Bundesliga title in 2012/13, when they reclaimed domestic dominance from a Dortmund squad led by Jurgen Klopp.
